Work Opportunities

Students are only permitted to work under particular circumstances and in compliance with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service’s complicated criteria and restrictions (USCIS). Students are permitted to work for a maximum of 20 hours per week throughout the academic year after completing the criteria and obtaining authorization from the university where they are enrolled. Only during university holidays are students allowed to work full time (40 hours). Part-time employment pay between $10 and $12 per hour on average.

Visa Process

Visa type F-1
The most frequent form of student visa is this one. An F-1 visa is required if you intend to pursue academic studies in the United States at a recognized institution, such as a U.S. college or university, a private secondary school, or an approved English language program. If you want to study for more than 18 hours per week, you’ll require an F-1 visa.

Visa type M-1
An M-1 visa is required if you want to engage in non-academic or vocational study or training at a U.S. institution.
