Students enrolled in a multi-year program can work part-time up to 40 hours per week during the school year and full-time during the summer, as long as it does not interfere with their studies. In Australia, the spouse of a student can work full-time if the student is enrolled in a two-year Master’s degree and part-time (40 hours per week) in other instances.
Students who have completed a two-year or longer educational program in Australia are granted a two-year work visa. After completing the course, the student can work full-time for a period of two years with this work visa. International students who have completed their studies in Australia are also eligible to apply for PR under the Skilled Migrant Category.
The visa application procedure usually takes 3-8 weeks. The visa officer will typically rely on the university or institution’s evaluation of your candidacy, although they may also conduct their own evaluation. All paperwork must be submitted to the visa authorities by the student. Just as a university student must demonstrate financial readiness to pay for living expenses, school fees, and course travel to the visa authorities. For immigration purposes, students will be asked to prove AU$18,000 in living costs each year, as well as the remaining fee for the remaining year. If required, the visa officer may conduct a telephone interview.
